Brake light sensor malfunction?

Hi guys! I've noticed that the brake light does not reliably light up when the front brake lever is pressed. It lights up just fine when the rear brake is pressed. This leads me to believe that the front brake switch is faulty. Anyone know if this is an easy fix, or if it's under warranty? I have a motodynamic integrated tail light that is only a few months old if this has any bearing on the issue. Thanks for the help in advanced!

Probably the brake light switch. I would definitely contact Yamaha first. Even if there's not a recal or you're not in warranty, sometimes dealers will take care of a small fix like that on the house or on the cheap.

That's most likely the issue. I wanted to run it past you guys to see if that was a common issue. I'm just happy the rear switch works so I can still ride :-D

check the connections first... we've had a handful of owners report the connector to the switch just wasn't fully seated... check the easy stuff first!

I'll run through and hit all the connectors I can find and see if any are loose first. That hasn't even dawned on me.

I just recently replaced mine. At first, scrubbing up the connector prongs on the switch worked, but after a while that failed to work and I just bought a new switch. It's about $26 and held on by a singe screw. It took me all of 30 seconds to swap it.
