Bending R6 headers to fit under oil pan

This has been asked before but I am not finding threads for it for some reason.

I have a 2012 FZ6R and I purchased 2005 R6 headers to be able to attach my own slip on.

I took off the stock exhaust and went to put the R6 on and its hitting the oil pan.

For the people that had this problem and took it to a muffler place or elsewhere, do you have photos of where you bent the R6 pipe. Or even the process explaining what needs to be done for it to clear?

Thanks in advance ~ Jason

Could not bend

Hi, I also had the same issue. I went to many shops and nobody could bend the headers for me. What one guy suggested was adding 1.5" to to headers. He welded a bar over the headers, about 5 to 6 inches down from where the gasket would be, he then cut the pipes underneath the bar he placed and added a 1.5 inch pipe to each pipe. It came out good and I was able to add the muffler I wanted. It doesn't look as nice but it works fine. The guy recommended I spray the header with hi temp paint to make it look better. Hope this gives you an idea of what you could do.
