Back tire slipping

Keep in mind that I'm still a novice rider and positive that I don't ride with such the greatest techniques. As the title says my back tire has been tending to float out on me in the turns. Guessing it might be the way I ride, or could it be the type of roads I ride on (back roads in the country) maybe possibly my tire itself...
Any ideas guys? Willing to learn from the guru's lol

Tire pressure is the first thing to check.
Make sure you are not riding the back brakes? Or hovering over the pedal, tap it and things could get bad.

Tire pressure is at 28 pounds...seems low. It is a Dunlop Sportmax, came on the bike when I bought it

Spec for the rear tire is 36lbs! You're WAAAYYYY under-spec, dude... pump it up!

I'll bet that tire is heating up like Atlanta asphalt in August... Slightly lower pressure (1 or 2 PSI below spec), will give you a little extra traction (and a little less turn-in speed), however, that low will cause overheating of the tire, and traction begins to disappear...

Texas roads get a tad warm lol and your right on the tire pressure it is way low. Definitely acting like a rookie on this one lol

I had the same feeling and still sometimes do, but it hasn't felt like this in a while and I think leaning a little forward in a crouch helps before going into the turn. Is your bike lowered at all?

No it's bone stock, can't say it has always done this but did it enough to make me stand it up some in a corner the other day

Sometimes I have noticed that too but it seems to me that it happens when I lean on roads that have been sloppily fixed with that liquid tar to cover up the cracks in the road.. Just a theory of mine that could be totally wrong though

not just your theory... their called "tar snakes" and they are dangerous!
If you see them coming into a turn, slow way down... I've slid on them going in a straight where the two sides aren't quiet level and the tire just slips off one down to the other.

yeah, fill them tires up and take it for a spin and see if it's better.

Take a look at the roads that make you feel that way too, a lot of times there are things that are causing this that are part of the road itself, it could be as slight as a small angle in the curve, or something like that that causes this issue.

Love those tar snakes... they're rampant down here... slick as oil when they get wet in the cold weather... slicker than oil when they soften in the sun... Worse than wet leaves...

Just got back from my ride. Felt a lot better! There is a funky corner on this one route to my favorite turn I love to ride, took it with less throttle and felt like a charm. Thanks for all the help guys

Tire pressure checks is one of them weekly maintenance items I do (I commute about 300-400miles/week in full riding season plus the fun rides). I usually will check it while doing my chain and overall inspection.

When the temps change, tire pressures change, good thing to keep and eye on if it's 30 degrees colder/hotter than the last time you rode.

from tire rack:
"The rule of thumb is for every 10° Fahrenheit change in air temperature, your tire's inflation pressure will change by about 1 psi (up with higher temperatures and down with lower)."

I know that it wasn't your specific problem, but you should keep your tires temperature in mind as well.My rear is worn and hardly grabs when its cold.It was about 20* warmer this weekend so I started hanging off my bike again like I do in the summer since my tires were a little warmer than usual. I frayed the knee on my Carhart overalls on Saturday accidentally.I just never noticed how close my knee was getting in the past.Stupid move lol
