Anyone tried these? Footpegs

Hey guys, went for a ride today and the girlfriend complained of loosing her footing easily with the footpegs. This on top of my kind of dislike of the stock pegs and im convinced. Knight design is nice, but expensive.

Opinions of these?

Seem like they should fit, and get decent traction, plus look decent. Cheaper than Knight Design LLC and Twisted Throttle.

I have those exact same ones from the same retailer. got mine for a few dollars cheaper though, check around in that sellers store, sometimes ebay peps have the same item listed at different prices. i changed out the front AND rear pegs on mine.the metal is pretty soft so be careful when working with them, i touched mine up with a perm. marker in certain spots and it blended fine.

i'll throw pics up of my explanation later today.

your gf will get a better grip with those pegs.. they are a bit shorter than the stocks by 10-15 millimeters or so (i'll measure exact amount later) but even with my larger feet (size 11 average width) this didn't bother my footing. anyway, they are a snugger fit since you have to use the stock mounting parts like the spring and such with these so it's not an exact match and doesn't install as easy as the stock pegs. i had to shave off some of the metal near the base to get them to lay completely flat against the bike. it was only a millimeter or two off the corner of the base and it was on the underside of the peg so not visible. a little bit of work but understandable for cheaper knock off pegs. the rear pegs though didn't fit as well as the fronts. There's a little metal plate and a ball bearing that those pegs use to hold the stock pegs in place as you click them up and down. you can't use the plate or bearing as they won't fit. you'd have to shave down several millimeters off the base of the peg and i wasn't about to do that. without those two pieces though the peg is a bit loose. though once you tighten the bolt that holds the peg in place it'll get rid of the looseness and allow you to fold the rears up when you don't have a passenger and slide easy enough back down when you do. you just won't be able to click them up and down into place like the stock ones. i also put lithium grease in all the parts to help out. they look nicer than the stock pegs but i do get some vibration in one of the front pegs that i can't figure out since that vibration i don't get with the other.

that ebayer shipped them in about a week from china. i'll post pics and add some more info later today.

ouch! i kinda dropped the ball on this one. sorry to those who were waiting for pics. well anyway, here are the pics. the first one is of the rear peg and shows how little space i had and could barely fit the metal plate in but couldn't make room for the spring/ball bearing function from the stock pegs. as a result the pegs don't click up and down. instead the peg moves around loosely. but if you tighten the bolt enough you can put enough pressure on it that it'll hold it in place then you just slide the peg up and down and the tension keeps it in the place you want it.

the second picture is of the front peg. the peg is folded up and the slightly rounded edge you see is the part i had to file down so that it would sit more flush with the bike thus letting the peg sit level when folded down.

you're welcome. glad it helped. As in your first post they do look good and they do give better traction, however they don't provide mounting hardware which they conveniently don't tell you and the metal is kinda soft so if you knock it with a tool or smoosh parts of it with a vice grip like i did then you'll notice the marks. and because they don't provide mounting hardware the stock hardware doesn't fit the greatest. and then there's the whole issue with needing to shave down the metal so they sit flush with the bike (assuming each pair they sell is the same as the ones i received).

one thing i've been noticing lately is that when i am working on the bike i sometimes knock the front pegs with my leg or something and it hurts cuz the edges on those pegs are pointy. i know these are for the rear pegs for your gf but if the pegs are down all the time be careful around them cuz they can hurt.

i wouldn't recommend them. too many shortcomings. i'll keep mine on since i pretty much resolved all the negatives, but if i knew about all of them before hand i would have shopped around for something else and not wasted my time trying to fix all the wrong stuff and still being left with a fit that isn't great.
