Accidently sanded off fairings clearcoat.

Hi,

Today i decided to get rid of some shallow scratches on my fairings. I used 1200 sandpaper soaked in warm soapy water. I carefully rubbed the scratches out making sure not to sand off the clear coat and mission accomplished! Apart from a couple of deep chips all of the scratches are gone! After washing and polishing my bike i put it out to dry only to discover i sanded off the clear coat - doh!

Any ideas how i can fix it? The paint seems fine and it is only small parts of the clear coat that needs re-doing. Can i just use an automotive clear coat aerosol spray? I attached a photo.

You can get cheap stuff at your local hardware store, but I had good results with clear coat from this site: http://www.colorrite.com/department/yamaha-fz6r-motorcycle-paint-11223.cfm

I had to re-paint and re-clear the spoiler on my car. I used Dupli-Color products. I did have to polish the final clear coat using some polishing compound. It took some time to get the finish I wanted, but it was worth it.
