03-05 R6 headers w/ 06-07 R6 muffler

I was wondering if you could fit a newer mid mount R6 muffler to the older style R6 headers. Low and behold I found that a lot of 03-05 R6 guys have done this, there are even how-to's on this. So now that I know the muffler fits directly onto the headers, has anyone tried this on their FZ6R? I found an almost new looking header for $50 and the muffler locally for $30, so I have $80 tied up in this thing. The bike already had a juice box pro on it when I bought it so that part is taken care of. Thoughts anyone?

i put and 03-05 r6 header on mine, it worked out ok, just bending it to clear the pan was a pain, but i took a blow torch to it and a long crow bar and it turned out ok, except i put a zx6r two brothers exhaust and an adapter to extend it just a bit and it fit great. go for it! so much cheaper than a fz6r full exhaust.
