I'm finally adding a relay to have switched power for all my accessories (heated grips, heated jacket, lighter socket).
It seems the most accessible wires to tap off of would be those going to the tail/brake light bulb. You can see the socket at the back of the compartment under...
so I left my key in the ignition and killed the battery. I managed to get someone to give me a jump start which was great, started the bike up, got it all running and left it running while I put the seat on and everything. figured I'd charge up the battery.

I replaced my "main" relay that works with the kickstand, clutch, starting, etc. $50 but when i tested the old one it had an open circuit it shouldnt have had. The problem being i cut the main harness with my seat and now the bike will shut off the second i kick it into gear.

other forums say get an EL-12 relay. the only instructions for installation are on the r6 forums....is this the same installation process? do you have to tap the stock relay wires? most relays...
