i can answer that question as i too am going from my second r1 to a 6r. for me it's practicality, my r1 is not exactly town friendly, nor can i safely use it to it's potential on public roads. there are no tracks anywhere near me and the riding position is not exactly comfy on long rides...

i've had the harri's r1 grips for YEARS and they've held up amazingly well. still soft after more hours in the sun than not. no discoloring, very nice.

i don't agree with the way the officer acted, but he was probably rather 'pumped' up just as the rider was. should have showed his badge FIRST rather than the gun IMO but what concerns me is the aftermath. i've actually just emailed my local police to find out if i can legally tape a ride...

tis true, a sprocket change (-1,+2) will improve your acceleration but WILL decrease your top end. doesn't change anything in regards to hp or torque. i've done the change on my r1 just for the acceleration but it also really messes up your speedo.
