Just noticed this a month later, if you still need help post up a question and I will see if I can answer it. I don't get on here very often now that I have it where I want it. Putting a Bridgestone BT016 on tomorrow.
I have a pretty sweet Yamaha XS650 bobber to ride in the meantime but I would probably buy another FZ6R and make it exactly like this one if I have the cash to buy again in the near future. I really like this bike, I have owned a LOT of sportbikes and this is my favorite so far.
I love this bike but financial situations force me to sell. :(
Purchased new in 2010. I have all OEM body work, mirrors, bars, signals, windscreen, exhaust, etc. Bike was never down just like the streetfighter look, has Renthal bars, barend mirrors, small signals and custom exhaust. This has...
The clamps that mount on the fork legs are just conduit clamps from your local hardware store. The brackets on either side of the headlight are the OEM brackets just modified a bit with a die grinder. Take it apart and look at my pics, you will see what has to be done.
There are a ton of threads on R6 exhaust swaps, do a quick search.
Front signals are some cheapo Micro LED blinkers from Cycle Gear (~$15) mounted on my headlight brackets.
I was originally going to try and get the needed Euro parts from the UK and convert my bike but eventually gave up trying to contact and converse with UK dealers, digging through exploded diagrams to figure out what parts I needed and then spending a pile of cash to get it over here. From what I...
I have not, I haven't even tested it yet, it might hit before the peg...if it does I will let you guys know but in FL there seem to be very few twisty roads.
No programmer, that was not in the budget. I was a little nervous about running without one but it seems to run well. The R6 can is definitely not very restrictive (you can see right through it) but it seems to run well, idle is smooth and there isn't excessive popping or backfiring so I left...
Sorry guys, I got very busy with moving out of state so I didn't ever get my pictures posted up. Here are a couple shots of what I did, instead of bending the header I just dented it to clear the oil pan, I didn't want it hanging way down and looking out of place and it really didn't have to be...
Yeah I was pretty happy with the way everything fell, I am a little worried that the silencer is not tied to the bike any way except being clamped to the header but it is pretty dang light so I think it will be okay, plus the end of the header is bolted to the bike. I am going to cut that...
Sorry guys, digital camera was dead so while that is charging I took another crappy cell phone teaser shot. Mods thus far are Renthal bars (didn't go the fatbar route due to not wanting to buy new clamps), R6 header and silencer, Targa FE, billet bar end mirrors. Still have a few things to clean...
Just an update, I dented my header slightly to clear the oil pan, drilled a second hole in what I would assume is the bracket for a center stand (on the frame) and was able to bolt the rear of the header to the frame with a spacer so the rear end was nice and solid. I then cut the emissions...
Bar end mirrors are in the mail, probably going to do Renthal fatbars too.
I definitely would have purchased an XJ6 if it where available, it seems getting euro parts over here is tough.
