To All The Canadians On Here

Happy Canada Day! It's a great day for a ride, so go and enjoy what this beautiful country has to offer from the seat of a motorcycle. I'm stuck at home most of the day, but my fridge is full of Canadian beer and iPod is loaded with Canadian music and plugged in to the stereo in the garage.

Let's Hear It For The Moms!

I am a new Dad, our first baby coming less than a month ago. Seeing everything my wife does each day has given me a completely new appreciation for my Mom, for my wife, and for Mothers everywhere. We all have a Mother, and she played a big role in making us who we are. It is truly amazing how...

Just wanted to gloat a bit

Tonight I passed my exam with the volunteer fire department I have been training with since last year. My yellow training helmet is gone, and I am now considered a Firefighter! It's a proud moment for me. Here's a silly looking picture to cheapen the moment :P

So, I have been putting together a home system for a while now and am almost set up. Components are: Toshiba smart TV, iPad, MacBook Pro, Apple TV, and a Panasonic SA-PT480 Home Theatre in a Box. I just added the Apple TV, and before that was able to control the volume of the stereo amp with...

Life After FZ6R; What's Your Ride Now?

With the ever-growing number of forum members moving on from the FZ6R, this thread seems like a good idea. (I can't take credit, Fizzer6R suggested it in a post.) So, for the members who had a 6R and are now on something else: What is your post-6R ride? How is it different than your 6R? What is...

    My brand new boy

My wife gave me the most wonderful gift I have ever had yesterday morning; my first son Max. He's a little short to reach the pegs right now, but he has strong hands. He should be able to squeeze a clutch in a few weeks :P

    Need some A/V advice

Copied and pasted from my thread on the FZ1 forum because I'm a lazy, lazy man: Wife and I just bought our first house, and I'm working hard on getting an entertainment setup. So far, I have a smart TV, MacBook, iPad, iPhones for each of us, AirPort, PS3, and surround system. I have iPad apps...

The lengths people go to to avoid saddlebags...

I bet the wheels on the suitcase were melted to nothing by the time they stopped.

Weekend NH, VT, and NY tour on FZ1 with pics

My friend and I hit the road after work Friday night for a weekend in the saddle. We shot from Arnprior ON, near Ottawa, to Sherbrooke QC Friday night. Nothing eventful, just freeway buzzing at 80-90mph to get closer to good roads for the weekend. Saturday morning we headed East from...

Showered, naked, and a bit wet :)

My wife wasn't nearly excited enough about how good my bike looks after a proper wash, so I needed to show off to some folks who appreciate bikes and quench my thirst for attention.

    Henry Rollins

Anyone else a fan? I saw him speak last night in Ottawa (second time seeing him speak) and was, once again, blown away. He is a very inspiring guy. His message is amazing. Anyone else seen him? ...or a fan? Share your stories.

A Good Reason To Pony Up For Brand Name Parts

I posted the following on another forum where I hang out. It's a duplicate because I am too lazy to type the story all over again: I have been guilty more than once of buying a Chinese knockoff part to save some dough. I'm glad, however, that I bought a Yoshimura slip on. I noticed while...

First time I've seen a normal one...

I was at a Yamaha dealership today (after I cleaned my visor) and got a look at a built, unmodded FZ1. What a difference!

    A clean visor

Is I sit here cleaning my visor in prep for heading off on my bike, I have to ask: Is there really anyhting better than a spotless visor? One of motorcycling's simplest pleasures is having a crystal-clear view of what's ahead. I must remember to throw a pack of Windex wipes in to my riding backpack.

    Settle a bet...

My boss and I have a friendly disagreement going. Based on no factual evidence whatsoever, he claims a high-preformance car has better inhernet cornering ability than a high-preformence bike. We have excluded cars with really crazy aero mods from this dispute (think F1 or Indycar). Anyone have...

    MV Agusta Brutale?

I was browsing a dealership today, and I found what seems to be a pretty good deal on a 2011 MV Agusta Brutale 1090. I have been looking to upgrade my FZ6R for a while now, wanting something I can street like my 6R, but light up on a track when the opportunity arises. Does anyone have experince...

Blew a bulb in the signal that came as part of my Targa FE Kit. My local shop doesn't even know where to start looking for the bulb I removed and showed them. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
