Bob's is great. Just about the only dealer I've found that will let you demo their bikes.
There is also Heyser in Laurel or if you don't mind a drive Pete's Cycles up on BelAir in Baltimore is pretty good from what I remember.
OK, would rather keep politics out of this one and please notice I said Sailors and Marines. Turns out the stats I quoted were only partially correct. It was just the Marines that had a higher fatality rate due to motorcycle accidents than combat operations. Combat is what Marines do, what...
I've been in the US Navy for coming on 20 years. Since I can remember it has been a requirement for service members that ride to take the MSF Basic Rider course. While this is a good start it turns out that the Navy and Marine Corps lose more Sailors and Marines to sport bike accidents each...
When I brought the bike home my wife said I looked like a Power Ranger! Between the power crystal, rabbit ears and my gear I can see her point. :D
The crystal is my only real complaint about the styling of the bike.
I think she'll find this bike better that she expected. Take some time and look at other posts but I have never heard someone use the term sluggish with this bike! The only real complaint you'll hear are about mirrors, fender and lights; all cosmetic.
As for power / speed, my last...
I took the MSF course in Florida to get my license. Had two young guys taking it with me who had never ridden before but already bought there 1000+ sport bikes. Both lost control of the Intruder 250's we were using... :banghead:
Actually if you take a sport riding course or read up on this style of riding, to lean slightly forward and have your body off center slightly is the suggested course. It changes the center of gravity of the bike, allowing greater speeds and stability. I'm not talking a full knee dragging...
Can understand that. I'm using a Scorpion right now so I too have not had the best by any means. I can deal with noise, can't be much worse than the scorpions but I wonder about fit and safety. Even if these are average seems like a good price considering the functionality.
Wow, pretty Cheap for a helmet. I see all the Hawk helmets listed for below $110 on leatherup.com, but only a few were Snell approved. How's the noise? Anyone else use these helmets?
Nope, it was a 1985 GSL, arrest-me red, so pristine you could eat a meal off the engine. Seven years old with 30,000 miles, never saw rain or snow until I got a hold of it... Probably should have followed the previous owners decision on that one. :(
Came to the realization that I was old a...
