Concerns over late start to winterization

As long as you have confidence in the tech looking over the bike, makes sense for the comfort factor. :) There is enough to be thinking about while riding to not need to worry about the safety / reliability of your ride.

Concerns over late start to winterization

Sorry to be speaking 'tech' Brake master cylinders, by the lever and foot lever, drive slaves (cylinders) at each wheel. Hydraulic brakes, (the fluid) work using them..It's all in the manual. :) Lots of very good information on this site as well, so browse over the winter. Yeah, a really cold...

Concerns over late start to winterization

You have the tank, tires and chain protected. The oil change can wait until spring, assuming you are not riding until then. Same for the coolant. So long as the bike is sitting, not much wear and tear going on. Trickle charge your battery from time to time, again if the bike is sitting. Come...

    Headlights

It is a safety feature in the U.S. so people can see your bike, day or night, and hopefully not plow into you.

There are gear indicators available, if you want to go that route. Mostly plug and play, but a splice to power, ground and one of the sensor wires is required for some, trivial, if you have the manual, and locate the 'right wires'. I added one without too much stress. :) Check Ebay or your...

Yamalube or any oil that meets the spec in the manual will work, with a good filter. :) People get into 'religious wars' over 'the best oil / filter', so use what is available that meets your spec. Some only use OEM oil and filters, others have their own favorites. It is a good assumption to...

Try to change nervous to cautious. Do your homework on gear, and make sure you get a good helmet that fits (right). The Paddock stands work out well to do maintenance and to get your tires off the ground for winter too. Best of luck with your bike, and stay warm! :) Lots of good information on...

Welcome and enjoy your new ride. :) My son is 6'4" and is comfortable riding the bike, you should be okay for 'fit'. Consider taking a rider safety course, if it has been 20 years, I know it helped me, and it's always good to refresh your skills. If the noise of the bike is too much for YOU...

    Frame Sliders

The 'through fairing' sliders were two different lengths, as standard. I assumed it was to provide equal protection on each side, based on what was on each side of the bike... ;) The no-cuts are the same length, but the mounting brackets are different for each side.

    Frame Sliders

You may be able to contact the vendor and simply replace the 'puck' or pucks that are damaged, rather then replace the entire slider. There are many 'no-cut' sliders available, and Shogun (at one point) made both through the fairing, and no-cut versions. Good luck! This is a link to Ebay for a...

    Bike hesitate under 5k rpm

Stock bike. No issues below (or above) 5K, but takes off like a rocket above 6K. May be your tune? There are 'several' programs (Marthy's versions) for the Power commander you might try if you don't have access to a dyno tuning shop.

    Michelin Road 5’s?

Would that be 46th 'week' of 07? Only 12 months in a year. :)

Please help right turn signal nonfunctional.

When you wrote NO FLASHING Signal, was that both sides? If so, there may be another fuse for the 'flashing circuit' only. If not, i would next check the flasher unit to make sure it has power, and is indeed putting out voltage (flashing). If you are getting flashing at the output of the flasher...
