The issue I've found with the highway is the stock gearing isn't tall enough. It's great for highway blasts but truly relaxed highway riding isn't it's strong suit. As pocket change would fix this or course but the benefits of shorter gearing would be lost as well.
I'm glad you are happy with it. Many people see the handlebar as a positive feature and it is for many reasons. I'd have to ride one that was properly installed to decide whether it's worth my time. An I'm already running a lowered front so the whole flick argument is moot. I'm not hating on...
Since when do clip ons = easier to maneuver?
An looks are subjective. Personally I think most aftermarket clip on setups look cheap but maybe yours is different.
The riding position will surely change and getting in full tuck will feel more natural instead of the elbows in hands out...
200 blasts on a freshly paved black top with an 03 R6 at 3am. She kept up really well I must say, fell back beyond 170 but everywhere else was on point.
I'm satisfied.
You aren't teaching me anything here. I had clutchless shifting down at 5 years old.
I just think it's unnecessary for most riding scenarios. Racing aside.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
It's not a semi tranny. There is a reason it has a clutch, I hear the Can-Am spider is semi. Maybe try that?
Ha-ha I also do not think shitting myself is very fun, although that does have its place.
I had a CBR600 before I picked up my FZ. In some cases I miss the power but I don't find myself in very many situations where I think "I wish I had my CBR right now".
Pretty much the only time I think...
I shift up to top gear. No need to put extra strain on the engine it's not like 6th is overly tall anyways, the FZ has short ratios stock an it has no trouble pulling itself out of a hole at low rpm.
Hey I was born in Mississauga , live in Kingston now. What track are you running at Kayuga? I plan on doing a track day at some point. Shannonville is a half hour ride from here which is nice.
Small world.
Interesting. I could care less about fuel economy personally but I would instantly regret it if I lost any noticeable amount of acceleration. The FZ doesn't have any power to sacrifice in stock form IMO. If the bike came with around 85hp from the factory it might have been ok but as it sits...
