First 2hr trip on the bike there & back

The issue I've found with the highway is the stock gearing isn't tall enough. It's great for highway blasts but truly relaxed highway riding isn't it's strong suit. As pocket change would fix this or course but the benefits of shorter gearing would be lost as well.

    Slowing down before a turn

    This pretty much.

What the deal with clip-on handle bars?

I'm glad you are happy with it. Many people see the handlebar as a positive feature and it is for many reasons. I'd have to ride one that was properly installed to decide whether it's worth my time. An I'm already running a lowered front so the whole flick argument is moot. I'm not hating on...

What the deal with clip-on handle bars?

Since when do clip ons = easier to maneuver? An looks are subjective. Personally I think most aftermarket clip on setups look cheap but maybe yours is different. The riding position will surely change and getting in full tuck will feel more natural instead of the elbows in hands out...

What did you do to your bike today?

200 blasts on a freshly paved black top with an 03 R6 at 3am. She kept up really well I must say, fell back beyond 170 but everywhere else was on point. I'm satisfied.

Shift points to keep up with normal car speed

You aren't teaching me anything here. I had clutchless shifting down at 5 years old. I just think it's unnecessary for most riding scenarios. Racing aside.

Shift points to keep up with normal car speed

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. It's not a semi tranny. There is a reason it has a clutch, I hear the Can-Am spider is semi. Maybe try that?

Shift points to keep up with normal car speed

4200rpm is a low rpm sweet spot on my bike. Try it

    First oil change, which filter?

    I run Napa Gold.

Lowering the front end (step by step)

You don't need straps or any of that. A flat floor jack and done.

    Leaving the Fz6r :(

Ha-ha I also do not think shitting myself is very fun, although that does have its place. I had a CBR600 before I picked up my FZ. In some cases I miss the power but I don't find myself in very many situations where I think "I wish I had my CBR right now". Pretty much the only time I think...

Shift points to keep up with normal car speed

I shift up to top gear. No need to put extra strain on the engine it's not like 6th is overly tall anyways, the FZ has short ratios stock an it has no trouble pulling itself out of a hole at low rpm.

Shift points to keep up with normal car speed

5-6k if I'm just cruising around. But I rarely just cruise around :D

How much additional HP would it need to maintain acceleration with a +1 F sprocket

Hey I was born in Mississauga , live in Kingston now. What track are you running at Kayuga? I plan on doing a track day at some point. Shannonville is a half hour ride from here which is nice. Small world.

How much additional HP would it need to maintain acceleration with a +1 F sprocket

Interesting. I could care less about fuel economy personally but I would instantly regret it if I lost any noticeable amount of acceleration. The FZ doesn't have any power to sacrifice in stock form IMO. If the bike came with around 85hp from the factory it might have been ok but as it sits...

Thanks and you have proven yourself around here that's why it surprised me.

How much additional HP would it need to maintain acceleration with a +1 F sprocket

What are you talking about? Going a tooth "up" on a front sprocket makes the gears taller, thus making your smug bicycle comment nothing but a showcase of your ignorance. We can use the bicycle if you need to dumb it down a little. For example taking off in 1st gear on a ten speed is easier...

How much additional HP would it need to maintain acceleration with a +1 F sprocket

Really? It seemed to make a huge difference on the Ninja 300. It's actually over geared now. Great for touring but it definitely lost on the bottom end.

How much additional HP would it need to maintain acceleration with a +1 F sprocket

I'm thinking about putting a +1 on the front to correct the speedo and help with long highway trips. I don't want to lose any acceleration with the taller gearing. I don't know if there is a table available to figure this type of stuff out but I'm hoping you guys might have a rough estimate...

Just joined the uncool kids club

Nothing is more cool then wearing good gear. I don't know anyone who thinks not wearing gear is cool. Riding without gear is like telling everyone to steer clear of you because you obviously don't know what you're doing. Be cool, wear gear.
