So seeing as you Americans have discovered the 90's and dance music (largely thanks to Dubstep) I thought I would start a thread dedicated to this.

So let's discuss songs, DJ's, trends or post up your own originals or mixes.

This could just be me and kevin8198 but I sure there are others interested too.

I will start it with a mix I have done. I am new to mixing. This is probably about my 4th mix I have done, with each getting technically better. Still a lot of improving to go, but I am happy with how this turned out (with the exception of a couple rough spots).

DrC1 - Droids in Heat (Electro/Progressive Mix) | Mixcloud - Re-think radio

Would definitely appreciate feedback and comments. Anything to help me improve.

I've got a Soundcloud account but it only let's you have 2 hours of content unless you pay, and it is a real bitch for copyrighted material. About half my uploads get rejected.

Just not worth the hassle for the ability to time comments and download the tune (which is easily hosted elsewhere anyway.

This was my very first mix after about an hour of playing with my S4 to discover what everything does. Not technically great, but I really like the feel and progression of the tunes. Some are they same as the other one, cause I think they just worked so well.

DrC1 - Soaked in Electro | Mixcloud - Re-think radio

This was my 2nd ever attempt. Different style. More the hard dance/Rave style of music. This style is popular at some of the more serious clubs here, and is what you can all thank for "Shuffling."

Nice thread.

I use to mix using a Stanton SCS3D with mixxx, on Ubuntu Studio. :-)

I was really bad, should I say, but lot of fun at home. Reading this makes me want to mix again.

I would be a horrible DJ, hahaha... I only mix or like to mix the stuff I like, which is 80s, 90s, and Dance Music.

Funny, because I am latin. My wife is american. I think she likes more salsa and latin rhythms than me. And she dances that in a fantastic way.

:D

I like what I've heard so far. Will definitely listen to some more later. I've always dug breaks. One of my favourite discs almost 10 years ago was "Ministry of Sounds guide to breaks," mixed by an Aussie bloke Kid Kenobi..... If you haven't heard him check him out on Soundcloud. He and Bombs Away are playing my area next month but I can't go (stupid work).

Damn you... I can see a big purchase at beatport coming up to get some breaks to my collection.

edit: The sooner the Dubstep bandwagon discover breaks the happier I will be.
