I've had a crampbuster on my bike for the past month. Went from Chicago to Mt. Rushmore and back with it -- and did an Iron Butt - Saddle Sore 1000 with it also.

I like it for what it is, a stupid piece of plastic that cost about 10 bucks and slipped over the handlebar in a minute -- and doesn't ever need adjusting.

I'd really like to get a Throttle Meister or lock at some point, but I'm not sure I'd use it enough to justify the cost. So for now, I'm sticking with the crampbuster -- and I'm plenty happy with it in the meantime.

I had a crampbuster and I hated it. The hand position never really seemed natural for riding. I had a bike it on the FZ6 and it worked well. I didn't like the way it looked so much and also didn't like the fact that the brace bar covered access to the kill switch. Thougt about throttlemeister, but it was kind of pricey and wasn't sure if engaging it would was as easy as it looks.

now there's a good trick for short-term resting of the arm..... might track down a big enough o-ring to give it a try.
Yeah, i just kinda gave up after that first try. Im sure there is another bigger oring that could work

Also, just be careful its something that you can easily roll off the throttle with. Dont want your throttle to get stuck open. Could get dangerous quick.

yeah, I'd find one that wouldn't go all the way into the gap. The shop here has a pretty good selection of parts..... think I'm going to go take a gander.

Throttle Rocker

I have the throttle rocker and have used it for thousands of miles. I can't imagine not having some sort of throttle device for long distances.

The throttle rocker is basically a very good compromise.

PROS: Prevents hand cramps, makes holding steady speeds easy, cheap, easy to install (60 seconds).

CONS: Sometimes gets in the way when you're in certain hand/body positions.

Like I said, it's a compromise, but it does what it's supposed to do: alleviate hand cramps and make steady cruising easier. You do have to adjust it perfectly, which only takes seconds and a few trials and errors. If it's too high, it gets in the way. If it's too low, it's hard to hold higher speeds (hard to twist far enough). You'll understand when you try one.

At its super low price, it's worth trying.

P.S.: I'm about to ride from Calgary to Toronto (3400 km) in four days. The Throttle Rocker and an Airhawk seat pad should save me. An electric vest and waterproof gear should also make things comfortable.

I have the Crampbuster and it is fine for freeway riding. If I get into any around town driving or the twisty windys, I take it completely off the bike. I have accidentally hit it and it gets dangerous real quick.

I just ordered a throttle rocker, Wich it will be good! I was wondering about the throttle meister if guys that have it love it and what is the con and pro. I don`t know if you guys ever ride in New Brunswick and nova scotia but it is pretty flat and new brunswick is freaking long lol! anyway would probably be good!

crampbuster plus

I am using a crampbuster and this other device that I saw here... Cheap Ass Motorcycle Throttle Lock.

I think the crampbuster is just fine and the other device is just temporary until i can find a commercial one that I like. I had a vista cruise on my old bike, and liked it, but it is kind of big and ugly so i am looking for a better looking idea for the FZ6R. The Cheap Ass lock works well for short periods to shake out the hand, but I wish I could shut it off without closing the throttle all the way. Ohh and just a note, the crampbuster is kind of in the way around town (not unrideable), but you can just rotate it out of the way so it points almost straight down and then its no problem. I went on a 500mi day and used the crampbuster the whole time, used the Cheap Ass lock a few times.

Been using a Throttle Rocker since my Ninja 250 days. It's cheap and it works. I find it's better for highway riding than city (obviously), but you can move it out of the way as you ride, and if you don't want it on at all, just clip it off.

I am in the streamwood area, I know the kawasaki dealer in Elgin has a sweet thumb lock and it's only about a buck and a quarter. BBK is the name of the dealer, I am going to be picking that one up.

btw where about are you?
