yet another exhaust question

ok so my bike is lowered....the what i assume is the catalytic converter ( the box on the exhaust) sit really low to the ground on my bike...i know that an aftermarket exhaust would not only give me more ground clearance but would increase power a little and reduce the weight....all benefits....my concern is the noise i like the way the bike sounds stock....i dont want it to be louder A. because i dont want my neighbors to hate me B. i work late and dont want to wake my grandma up when i come home and C. i dont want to draw anymore attention to my self from the cops then what i already do.

my question is, is there an exhaust out there that gives you all the power, weight and ground clearance benefits without all the loud ass noise? i know there are silencers and silencer packing for the TBR and what not but from what i understand its still louder than stock.... is there anything thats pretty close to stock? ( its not because i dont like the loud noise trust me i do....i just dont want it right now lol)

No........ They will all be substantially louder, even with silencers in. I dont think anyone has any issues with clearance while lowered.

idno after it bottomed out on the ramp it just had me thinking.... i mainly wanted to do it to trim off some weight a little...i know shes no super sport but a diet cant hurt....lol im a little dude...

You will shed about 10 pounds with a Full exhaust... Like JSP said, any aftermarket exhaust will be louder then stock. But as it's obvious, each one has their own exhaust note.. The two brothers I believe has the deepest note! Search around on youtube...

Inline 4's with an aftermarket exhaust aren't that loud at idle, so you just have to keep the R's down when you pull in at night.

I don't know how loud marthy's systems are but I know I could make you one that will have your neighbors running for hills!!!! http://www.fz6-forum.com/forum/fz6-mods/40828-machine-gun-exhaust.html I can literally rattle my neighbors windows in their house if I want too!!! That being said I leave my house about 5:30am and just idle down the street, at idle it's really not that bad, at least not bad enough to wake anyone up.

Just watched the video and forgot how "tinney" it sounded at first, I've since cut it open twice modifying it to tune it for the sound I was looking for, I've had several people say it sounds like a GP bike. I've never herd one in person so I guess I'm taking them at their word since they have.

Check out the Leo Vince full system. I saw a video of it and it didn't seem too loud... But I could be wrong. I think someone on here has one.

The Viper might be just a little bit more quiet then the TB but not by much. There's a DB killer for the Viper also...

Unfortunately it's that big box that's keeping it quiet. Once you remove that it's gonna be loud since there's no baffling to keep the noise down.

I only have around 3 inches of ground clearance with the 2brothers exhaust.

I'm lowered 1.75 in the rear and 1.5 in the front.

1. Your grandma can actually hear???? My grandma cant hear a damn thing!

2. As someone else noted, after market, at least to me, are only marginally louder at idle, or low acceleration. They become substantially louder on hard acceleration, etc. If you drive it right, it shouldnt be that much louder. I have TBR, but im not that concerned about waking people up, even though I leave around 6am for work.

Jon? The bike is awesome as it is. I often speak of my CB900F. I could only back it on my toes. That means not much at all. I had a lowering link on the rear. It helped. It lowered the bike. That meant it scraped. I learned to live with it. I only backed it when there was no other option and I always had to be cognizant of the fact that it was lower.

You've made no secret of the fact that your inseam is shorter than the average rider. Perhaps looking for an exhaust with a lower profile is pushing it. You've got an awesome frickin' ride. There are limits to it's modibility, though. It's not an SS, but it's still a Sport Bike.

Seems to me you need to keep it quiet, and not try to put into any more trucks...

They have chains to keep them from kicking out, plus you can walk up beside the bike if you need to.
I know you have it home already, but those things are worth every penny.

I'm going to speak up here. Imagine offloading a motorcycle down a ramp, from the the back of a truck. There's nowhere for your feet to touch. You can't sit on it and back it down. You've got to do it from the side.

The bike weighs more than 400lbs. Trying to balance it and and back it down? A big guy might could muscle it down. The rest of us? If it leans, it's going over. Cut the poor guy some slack.
