Hello, I have a question about replacing the headers on a Yamaha XJ6 2010. Maybe someone has encountered this and knows if it is possible to properly adapt a used Yamaha FZ6 S2 07-10 header? I am trying to find an option because I believe it will sound better and it is cheaper.

well since the r6, fz6 and fz6r/xj6 all use the same engine, and people swap the r6 headers onto the fz6r, i wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t fit. it just makes sense

03-05 R6/06-09 R6S header. Bolts up normally and exits at the same place our exhaust tip does, just need to add a slip-on of your choice. Exhaust gaskets are the same.

They commonly contact the oil pan, so you might need to heat it up and bend it or hammer it somewhat to make clearance. Otherwise if you want a direct fit you can swap out the oil pan for an 03-05 R6/06-09 R6S oil pan and oil pan gasket. Just need an extra oil pan bolt that goes in the center of the oil pan. Our engine blocks still have that threaded bolt hole there.

Post #14 and #16 in my thread here show the R6 oil pan and how a slip-on exits with the R6 header.
