How can you tell if your clutch cable needs replacing? 2011 FZ6R with 19,000 miles, clutch is not slipping but having trouble downshifting and finding neutral. Adjustments at the lever and engine have given minimal help. Thanks in advance.

I'd replace only if frayed at either end..... remove lever end and drip some engine oil or cable lube down it. Likely not your issue if adjusted OK and not sticking. If you are trying to find first or neutral while not moving, that can be an issue. Do you have trouble getting it into first when you start off (will be worse with a cold engine until the oil warms up).

I don't know much about these bikes yet, but in the past, some bikes don't get much oil splashed into the clutch plates and could benefit from a clutch soak. In that case, remove clutch cover, disassemble clutch, then soak the friction plates in engine oil for 15 minutes, re-assamble. That treatment will last a long time and you should see an improvement.
