Vibration around 6000 - 7000 RPM

Hi guys I have a 2010 XJ6 which I have just ran in (around 1600k) and I took it out for its first joyride and found its has a bloody awful vibration around 6-7 grand. I have checked a few sites and far as I can see it may be normal.

I was seeing if anyone may have the same problem or could share some insight before going to my yamaha dealer for some warranty work.

this is called the sweet spot!!!
for you ladies out there, get your fz6r into 6th gear and up to 7k then let off till it drops down to 6k....enjoy rinse and repeat!!!!

Yes, it definitely is a sweet spot, and the bump on the passenger seat helps too. Honestly, that isn't bad vibration...Try riding a cruiser once and see what vibration is...

Lol thanks guys, for a new bike I thought it was bad but to be realistic you head on past 7 grand and it starts singing

I change my handlebar, gel hand-grip and add heavy bar ends. That kind of fix most of the problem.

marthy we are not talking vib in the handle bars....we like it in the seat!!!:D

Oh man! 8k and up and it's sooo smooth and exciting!!


FYI the fz1's "sweet spot" was claimed to be around 5k.

FZWhite can perhaps reflect on that for us. :)

If you get a set of Renthals they fit perfect and take out all vibration in the handle Bars. I got a gold set to match my rims :)

I don't remember that vibration..... but I don't worry about it now anyways, if I was in 6th at 6k I would be going waaaay too fast. 3200 at 65 mph.

7k=75-80mph depending on how to jacked up your speedometer is
