Replacement gas tank

Apologies, as I’m sure this has been talked about somewhere, but I couldn’t find any posts or resources on it so far-

Will a fuel tank from an FZ6 fit on an FZ6R?
I know the R6 is not compatible.
-Trying to look into options before looking into learning how to do DIY PDR…

I did a quick look at Partzilla. A 2009 FZ6R part number is different than that of a 2009 FZ6. As far as actual fitment goes, I don't know if that would mean anything or not.

It will not fit. The FZ6 and FZ6R have different frames.

I remember someone on the FZ6 forum fitted a 6R tank on their bike so it might work the other way. You'd probably have to trim the plastics at the front of the tank as it does hold 2 litres more.
