Oil cap o-ring?

So I have the proper amount of oil in my bike but it tends to drip out some here and there around the oil cap? Is there supposed to be an o-ring around the oil cap? If so does anyone have a part number or anything?

yes, I just bought one, doesn't say specific for FZ6R but Im assuming Yamaha is all the same.

Mine leaks as well. Annoying as all hell. There was no o-ring on there when I bought the bike new.

Mine didn't leak at all last summer which is weird. I'm heading to a local shop and yamaha dealer tomorrow so I'll chat with them and see if they can help out.

There is a crush ring there and they suggest you replace it every oil change. I think the dealers sell them for under $1.

That's for the drain plug. Mine leaks out the fill plug.

I've started just hand tightening it as much as I can then giving it an extra little ooonch with some rubber faced pliers. Seems to seal it up.

Yep mine leaks out of the fill plug. It's beyond hand tight too. And still dribbles out a little. Dealer was closed when I stopped by but I'll check back and let you know what they say.

i did have this occur after i did my last oil change, i could be wrong but i believe it has to do with putting in too much oil. i wound up draining a bit and tightening the cap good and it stopped.

i bought a red cap with the yamaha logo off ebay for a few bucks doubt that makes any difference though
