My other two alternatives or what I had on my mine: the Ninja 650 and the Yamaha V star custom 650.

I basically decided for the fz6r because the way it fits me. My back is really comfortable and I am higher than the V Start custom, which has a lower seat (people can see me better). I know they both are different kind of bikes, but was looking something on the 600cc, comfortable and "nice looking" too.

I thought about the Ninja 650 , but I've had horrible customer service on two different Kawi dealers here in Houston, TX. To me, on going support is as important as the bike itself, and me not being a "do it yourself" kind of guy, a dealer becomes more important than what really is to others.

I previously had two Ninjas 250, old and the newer generation (2007 and 2009). So it was a big change, but a smooth one at the same time. I strongly recommend anyone to put ego aside and go for a Ninja 250 1st. Very forgiving and nimble, it was an awesome bike.

I am really happy with my purchase. The fz6r has plenty of power for years to come without being "too much". I was looking for a fun bike, not a "street rocket", so for me, the fz6r is the perfect choice.

Congrats! Good choice

Congrats, I came up from a ninja250 as well, did you post on ninjette.org by any chance?

Thanks for reply.

No, the ninja250.org forum. As a matter of fact, was trying to re-active my account and can't find it. :( ... I guess it was deleted because inactivity. It has been a while since I post there.

Congrats on the buy. I am sure it will be a great bike for whatever you are looking to get from it. There is a splendid rainbow of personality here as well as riding styles.

From the one side of the spectrum you get the guys who like myself got it for the small sport tourer. and on the other end of the spectrum there are guys who put on clip ons. and make it a aggressive as possible.

This bbike seems to be a true UJM, I had thought the days of the universals had died but thankfully yami saw fit to make another attempt at it.

here is my example of a touring set up.

I am sure if you look around there are tons of pics of folks bikes set up in many different ways.

Let's see your new bike, that way you can show how it comes along.
