I Miss It

My bike has been down with a flat tire for a few months now. It is difficult to explain, in words, how much that hurts me.

I simply haven't been able to find the cash for another Pilot Road 2 rear tire plus the funds to have it mounted.

I'm writing this post just to vent. To let those who know me on this forum know why I have been away.

And to VENT! Holy freakin' cow, I miss riding my Tora Tanshi! I choose my bike over my car every day. When I get free time, I ride my bike.

The only vacation I've taken in years was three days so I could run the Dragon.

I REALLY miss riding my bike! It's not only my release from every-day troubles on my commute, it's my dreams on my days off, as I ride off to Neverland.

There is always so much to do on my days off. The work just never ends. But some days I would take Tora out and just run.

Sometimes chasing local backroads. When I could, I'd ride up to my favorite twisties, a whole day of riding, and just run them because I could and it's an awesome road.

Now I feel like an addict without a drug. It's a horrible thing I sincerely hope none of you have to go through.

The only release I've got is complaining about the fact I can't ride, and posting video links of others riding.

It is small consolation.

I'm writing this post simply to vent my frustration at the world. I miss riding. Riding is my sanity, my release. Riding is what makes me able to face all the other problems in life with confidence.

I haven't been able to ride. If you're a Rider, you'll understand this post. If you're a weekender, you'll just think I'm crazy.

Provided it's not in the last 1/3 of the tyre its considered safe to plug? If that helps...

Know the feeling all to well!!!

Meerkat madness -is how I phrase it, as I would bolt upright & run to a vantage point to catch a glimpse anytime I heard a bike come near.

Catching myself staring/ ogling my bike in the shed, siting on it just to feel the squat like posture.

Even the times I would put my gear on (full gear) & helmet -big boy dress-ups!!!

yep, I know that feeling... had to wait so long for the chain and sprocket group buy... finally said I can't take it anymore and went with the different sizes.... almost two months stuck in a cage

well, that and we had a crappy Winter...

im lucky i havent experienced an outage yet with my bikes, and i have 2 so if one goes down i can still ride the other but i know when i just dont have the time and can't get on them for a couple weeks i start to miss it and will go in the garage at night and just start them or sit on them or polish them
hope you get on the road soon, while we should not be out buying video games or $100 dinners on our credit cards this is what they are made for. I say charge it and go get one

It was literally a pinhole in the center of the tread. I'm against plugging motorcycle tires for safety reasons, but because of the size and location, I gave it shot. I was desperate. I figured I'd just take it easy and it would get me through until I could get a new tire.

Regardless, the plug failed. I made the hole bigger and it still leaks. *sigh*

buzzbomb have you checked local craigslist to see if any used tires avail. for cheap? of course you want new, but if it's the difference of being able to use the bike or not, half price or whatever savings is worth it to get back on the road

I recall someone here putting a 190 on the rear; I have a used older Pilot 180 in Charlotte you are more than welcome to for free if it helps any

Call a tyre shop, most places near my will plug that for under $50US provided you haven't made it too bad...

Failing that look at 2nd hand tyres...

I thank you for you all for your suggestions and understanding of my plight. Here's the good news: I've just put the back wheel back on my bike with a brand-spanking new PR4!

She's been sitting so long, I was worried about the battery and bad gas. Every day off, I planned on firing her up and running her hot to charge. But it never happened. You know how it goes, something always got in the way and then the day was gone.

I put the wheel back on her a couple days ago and cranked her up.

Zoom, sputter, zoom. That's OK. She cranked right up and the good news is I parked her out of gas. A little trip to the gas station with a can, a REALLY necessary wash (there's no way I'm riding her anywhere, the way she looks) and I am back on my Tora Tanshi!

If there were an emoticon to express my excitement, it would be X-rated. Holy Frack! The words simply do not exist.
