How to remove panel...

I cannot figure out how to get these out to remove the panels... I've tried popping them out with a screwdriver, which will only scratch the plastic, and almost broke off my fingernails trying use them. Is there a trick? Something I'm overlooking?

Push in the center piece. Take an allen wrench or something small and flat, then just push in the "bullseye." Then, when you go to replace the plastic retainer, pull the center piece up so it sticks out. Then when you put the plastic retainer back in the hole, just push it down flush.

If this doesn't make sense, let me know.

use small screwdriver to push the central part down, once it's down there would no problem to remove it
