Got another GoPro!

Since I sold my original HD Hero I have badly missed having a camera. The new 3 versions are out and was looking hard at those. Really wanted the black version but at $400 and comes with practically NO mounts, was not in the budget. I liked the silver, but again, no mounts and at $300. And the silver is pretty much just an updated HD Hero 2.

So I figured I would see if I could find a deal on a HD Hero 2. Found a local guy on CL that had one and never used it. Just had a baby and needed the money.

Was the outdoor version so came with the helmet mount, head strap and sticky mounts. He also had purchased separately the suction cup and tripod mount. Got it all for $175. Couldn't pass that up.

A friend of mine is looking for a camera, but only wants it for safety, not making videos. You can find original non-hd heros on craigslist and ebay under $100. Just fyi if anyone who reads this is just looking at one for safety reasons.

What's the difference between hd hero 2 and 3?

3 models of the hero3, a $200, $300, and $400. They have different levels of power and features. The $400 can shoot in 1.5k, which is awesome.

I read a few of the specs when they first came out but really don't remember now. It looked like all but the most expensive was still fairly comparable to the HD Hero2, which is now about $200 with all the mounts and stuff.

The 3 has wi-fi capabilities and you can download the app on your phone and you can set them together and if say you had someone racing and you wanted to watch from the camera mounted on the racer. You can turn it on and watch the race from the camera's perspective right there. You don't have to wait until after the race is done. That's a fantastic feature if you ask me.
