suspension. preload

I noticed my rear shock is set at 3 from the dealer and after riding ~100miles today I don't know what I should be looking for to tell me whether or not to adjust the suspension :confused: I didn't notice anything I would refer to as "bottoming out" although I did a good job avoiding bumps...

what is a good position to have the suspension in for every day riding?

Three Questions: So...I bought my bike with 700 miles on it used from the same dealer where it was originally purchased. Somehow the original owner managed to misplace the factory tool kit. Is there another way to adjust the rear shock to be a little stiffer other than with that yamaha factory...

I never got the manual for my FZ6R and was wondering if it says anything about how to set the preload on the rear shock and whether it gives any guidelines for weight. The stock setting is 3 out of the possible 7.
