That recall is pretty funny - after a long service life the brake fluid will get contaminated and lead to a loss of performance...the lawyers must have wrote that one! I suppose some riders wouldn't know to follow the fluid change every couple years and then sue Suzuki. When you track ride you...
This is a simple but important question:
You filled the bike from a clean jerry can that had fresh fuel right...
If your answer is yes then you make me happy.
If your answer is no then that's your problem.
When you tighten the adjusting collar on a shock or increase the preload length by tightening the adjuster on the fork, you are indeed increasing the initial force exerted by the springs. This decreases sag, making the bike ride higher. It does not, however, increase the spring rate.

Some of you might remember my first track day ever which I took my 2009 FZ6R to:
http://www.600cc.org/forum/f68/first-track-day-fz6r-20237/
Well its been two years later and I still have the FZ6R as well as a Ducati 999 for the street and a dedicated Ducati 749 for the track. I've done...
Did the first fork oil change at 14000km.
Changed to Motul 15Wt synthetic fork oil.
Very easy to accomplish. The hardest part is to get the bike hung up from the ceiling or some other way to hold up the front. My front stand couldnt hook up the the lower triple clamp as it wouldnt fit...
PS. has anyone else had any issues with the stock tires similar to what im describing, or any other tire/bike in general. ive never seen a wear pattern like it and am still a little worried that its my frame or something.
Yes that's what my stock front did. The wear was lumpy and showed...
Thanks Jon I was hoping that was the case. I have one on order and I'll rest easier knowing that its suppose to strip out when removed. The shaft threads look OK so I should be good. Seems to me that the nut is very soft and maybe thats designed like that so you cant wreck the shaft which...
Hey ALL Been awhile since I posted...
Finally tried to change to the +1 Front sprocket. Of course my dealer ordered me the wrong sprocket and now I'm sitting here looking for an elusive Driven 17T. Anyways as I was going to re-use the sprocket nut I can see that its completely destroyed...
It doesnt need a new battery if the bike turns over cold and starts when its warm. Oil change wont do a thing for starting either.
You should drain the fuel tank with a syphoning hose and put brand new fuel in...ie not from a jerry can thats been in your garage for 3 years...brand new...
Keep your fuel tank low...around a 1/3rd tank should do. Move back in the seat and keep your weight as far back as you can. Pull slightly and from around 5000 RPM in first just wack the throttle...Keep the wheel straight and it should come up pretty nice but like the other posters said you run...
I think my bike topped out at 200 or 201 km/hr which google says is like 124mph...I forget exactly - it was last summer...thats pretty much all youre going to get if you so choose to run the bike flat out:thumbup:
you know what i think it was 210...
Oils Well That Ends Well, Part 2 - Sport Rider Magazine
Yamalube is about the worst and motul 300V is about the best. I use Rotella synthetic 5-40 now after trying Amsoil and Rotella 10-40 in my FZ6R. I use 300V in my Ducati.
Exactly...its not so much the weight riding its the parking and turning around slowly that really gets tricky for small riders. My FZ6R is tougher to push around than my 999. I dont think many folks consider that when purchasing a bike. Its always more power wins:cool:
I think she should shop for a lightly used CBR125. They pop up all the time and you can get riding cheap and they are bomb proof. Its easy for someone to watch motorcycling and say "oh thats going to be too slow for me" but never have even ridden before. Take the safety course and try a few...
I'm wonding what youre doing trying to stop with the rear brake anyways?! Youre going to get maybe 10-20% braking with the rear...And true the fronts dont feel like 4 piston Brembos but I can atest to a full day at the track from the stock fronts with no fade and solid feel all day. In fact I...
