New to the Yamaha world :D

Welcome and glad you love the bike. It's a great well rounded bike as your finding out. The brakes aren't the greatest but work well. I've locked the rear once on a really hard emergency stop (using both brakes of course) but if you aren't too grabby with the brakes, you'll be fine.

    New Member and Rider

Congrats on the new bike and nice upgrades! I think it's a great starter bike with room to grow as long as you ease in to and try not to get too ahead of yourself based on skill (which it sounds like you're doing right). And make sure not to DRIVE your bike...RIDE your bike ;-)

Motorcycle meet up and group APP

I am always open to giving something a try if it immediately looks interesting enough but if it's frustrating to use or doesn't deliver on the "promise", I quickly drop and delete...its that instant satisfaction mentality that app developers constantly struggle with I suppose. But style over...

Cool! Looking forward to trying it out then.

Motorcycle meet up and group APP

How is this app/site any different or better than Meetup. I use Meetup regularly and found a couple motorcycle groups I ride with. It was simple to do and easy to see events and rides scheduled. Even allow you to comment and it has a separate discussion board. So what is new and different...

some a$$hole tried to steal my bike

And where did this happen just so I know to avoid the neighborhood...I kid but whoever did that must have been some punk a$$ kid. I love that the FZ6R is so low key and you figure thieves would target something else so like others have said, a bit surprising. Hope you get her fixed up quick...

It was 27 degrees and sunny in Cleveland today, guess what I did?

I'm in SoCal so I've been riding all "winter" since it really doesn't exist here ;-)

    Rider Insurance FTW!!

I'm in SoCal (Orange County). Really odd that I got the deal that I did but I'll take it if they give it [emoji13]

    Rider Insurance FTW!!

My yearly cost with State Farm is about $360 a year for full coverage (100/300/100) and $500 deductible. I'm over 40, the FZ6R was my first bike ever, and have a good driving record. Progressive and Geico had quoted me $1200 and was like no way. Called State Farm on a whim and they gave me a...

Those that had gargage, driveway tip overs

Never heard of something like that from dropping a bike. I dropped mine a month in, once on each side, and it rides fine as far as I can tell. The shop didn't mention anything to me when I got its first service done. Your shop may be trying to bleed more money out of you since you dropped so...

where is the engine number located?

Ok found it....saw this on another forum and checked my bike to see if it's there... Stamped on the engine block just in front of the swingarm. If you position yourself on the left hand side of the bike, behind the engine, sight down the chain towards the engne, you should see it.

where is the engine number located?

Well that's new. I don't remember having to answer that question when registering my bike down here in SoCal. :/

where is the engine number located?

That's an odd request. I'm in SoCal an I don't remember DMV asking for any info like that. Not even sure what to look for if they did. What are you trying to do at DMV?

    Anyone have T-Rex spool adapters?

I like them and they work really well. I don't have to worry about the bike slipping when I've got it on the stand and working on my bike. And easy to install. Yes the are a little clunky but really aren't too bad.

    Hand is cramping. Help please.

Relax your grip and change your body position when riding so not as much weight is on your wrist. When I first got my bike, I used to ride with the grip of death and leaning on the bars too much and surely would get cramps especially on my throttle hand. Stay loose when riding really helps and...

    Tip %$#@ over!

Spend the money either on better parts or on riding gear. $844 could get you a nice leather suit if you don't have one already.

    Tip %$#@ over!

Sorry to hear you dropped it. Sounds like a lot of us, including myself, also dropped their bike early in its life LOL. I've gotten over it and hasn't bothered me these days. That's a lot of money the dealer is trying to get out of you. Like latony007 said, you can spend less fixing it...

    Recommended Gear For Motorcycle

ATGATT for me. I recently switched to a 2 piece Dainese Avro suite and it's super comfortable. Since its a two piece that zips together, it can be unzipped if you have to go to the bathroom. It's also track ready when zipped together. Definitely invest in gear.
