Just pony up for the PC and run Marthy's map. There isn't much difference between our stock pipes and the R6 pipes as far a flow is concerned. It all gets piped down to a 2" outlet run through a straight through can. So, if you do run lean with Marthy's map it won't be by much and not enough to...
I can't bring myself to like a naked bike. Yamaha would be doing itself a major disservice if they drop the entry level faired bike, like the FZ6R, from their lineup. Kawasaki will take that customer segment.
Ehh....it's good for learning balance, but that's about it. Literally everything she'll learn on dirt she'll have to do the exact opposite on the street. Don't plant a foot for tight turns, don't rely on rear brake, counter-steer instead of steer, shifting instead of clutching.
You get...
Lean your body more than trying to lean the bike. Physically turn your head in the direction you want to go, like looking ahead a good 30-50 feet. You'll get it.
I'm still on stock tires. Personally, I don't chase lean to go from edge to edge. I regularly ride with people on SS's. I keep up with them just fine in the twisties. Then they rag on me for having a chicken strip. To which I reply that if they weren't going so slow I could lean it more. :) In...
This cheapass one off Amazon. Was like $25. It fit perfectly. No lights, but I went with a motodynamics tail light anyways.

Mine is stock and only gets around 40 mpg. If I baby it I'll get 42-44. Not all engines are the same. There is a tolerance for mileage that is acceptable. So it will fluctuate from bike to bike, I'd say, 15% from the 43 mark. That's as low as 37ish and as high as 49 ish.
Fortunately this won't be my first boat. Actually just sold a 2002 Gambler 2100DC. New boat I just ordered is a Triton 18XS. Downsizing a little. It gets trailered since I fish tournaments, so I can fill up at gas stations. :)
Sounds like the bike is breaking in and staying at operating temp. I run my bike in the 6-10k range all the time. Temps are usually around 190-200f constantly. Wouldn't worry about the whiny noise. Every I4 motored bike I've owned had a "whiny" part of the rpm range.
First think you'll need it some type of hoist to lift the front end off the ground. I've used an engine hoist/cherry picker. Then some tools and patience.
