I just bought mine a month ago brand new, 2011 FZ6R, just did the 600 mile service and my wife got a call and we are moving to WI. I am going to be selling the bike soon. It is the Raven/Red color (looks burnt orange to me). I also have saddle bags, tank bag, batter tender and all my riding...
Picked it up yesterday and put a good 50 miles on it. 50 miles of good break in. Changed the oil and filter.
Wanted to take it to work so bad this morning but I am waiting on my jacket and pants to go over my work clothes (dress pants/shirt). They won't be in until next week though. :(

Don't know what countersteer is(or don't use that term, maybe I do know what it, need to look it up), not older than 49, ride a 600cc and I ride in city traffic.
I am not new to bikes but I am new to this forum. I am picking up a new 2011 FZ6R next week, weather and schedule permitting. I have a deposit on it and all my riding gear picked out and set aside.
My name is Greg, I grew up in MI, lived in Green Bay, WI for a couple years where I started...
This was back in 2007, I had a 2006 R6S and was riding with a group that I rode with weekly. Was cutting up some nice back roads when we all decided to stop and take a break. I was towards the front of the pack but we had all slowed down quite a bi. (read: everyone was there to see)
We all...
I could get the extended warranty for around $800, didn't really think much about doing that. What I was considering was the service contract (all scheduled maintenance covered) for $1000 for 3 years. Though, I am now leaning towards not doing it.
I have looked at some 1000's, not driven. I am justifying this purchase to myself with the fuel savings of the bike. So insurance is included in that cost. I originally went to the dealer to get an FZ-1 but when I saw the FZ6R I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I even looked hard at the FZ-8...
Thanks for the replies.
I like doing maintenance on things, I have been reading some of the DIY posts you have on this site and it has me thinking of not doing the Service Plan.
I thought maybe with the miles I will be putting on that it would make sense. I am actually going to through...
I will be putting a lot of miles, 120+ per day.
I usually never buy service plans but considered it for this one. I am a gear head and do all of my own maintenance on all my vehicles. I am compentant in the garage, installed full lifts, superchargers, owned several bikes and did all my own...
