creggur,
All good points and anything we can do to help us be seen better is definitely a plus in my book.
spoonybard,
Make sure your headlights are adjusted properly and maybe even a little higher. When I first got my bike people were turning in front of me and pulling out in front of me...
I average 47 to 48 mpg on the FZ6R now after the break in period. I was averging 43 to 44 mpg on my Bandit 1250S litre bike. So it looks like the FZ6R is getting 4 mpg more than the Bandit 1250S both driven at the same speeds and roads.
My conclusion; it takes more throttle twist (higher RPM)...
Just my thoughts but if the engine doesn't ping using the 86 octane at your altitude. I'd be comfortable with using the 86 octane ratio.
If I detected any pinging what so ever, I'd switch to the mid grade fuel.
I would get that bike back to the Dealer and let them check it out. You would start a paper trail to show that the issue was there since the bike was new.
I just wanted to say thank you for the very friendly welcome and gracious meal. I was happy to meet and have the opportunity to kick the tires with everyone. I would like to say thanks again to or host Craig and Tracie. They made everyone feel right at home.
The times they are a hard! Only Can-Am Spyder, Kawasaki and Yamaha are the only manufactures doing any Demo rides at Biketoberfest. I got to sit on the new Yamaha Super Tenere and I'm really impressed with this bike. I got to sit on the new Yamaha FZ8and to me it feels like the FZ6. I got to...
All the Dealers are feeling the sales pinch in todays economy. It might surprise you at the price you can get the new VFR 1200 by just shopping around.
Yea, I keep clear of Beach & Main during Bikeweeks or Biketoberfest. I usually hang around the Race Track area. Visit the different Manufactures Tents, check out some race practice and call it a day. Houligans near Rossmeyer's, is that US-1 & I-95?
I heard Kawasaki produced the Ninja 1000 to compete directly with the FZ1 and Bandit 1250S. The Ninja 1000 has the Z-1000 motor, up right seating, fully faired with relaxed ergonomics.
Nice looking bike in my humble opinion.
