Help! Bike keeps shutting off.

I have a 2012 FZ6R, I’ll start my bike and let warm to about 140° F before I start riding it taking it easy. Once I hit 3rd gear my bike is wanting to shut off and lugging like it’s not getting enough gas or power to my bike. I’ll turn it off and about 20 seconds later turn it back on and it starts up sometimes right away others takes a few seconds. Start riding normal then about 100 yards or so it starts dying again. So I checked Spark plugs and set to .64 on all three plugs looking the same. Tested battery with meter and reads steady at 12.44v, starting my bike it drops to about 10.91v and giving throttle it’s at about 14.15v give or take so I’m guessing my battery is fine with my understanding of the multimeter tests. This all started with my motorcycle wanting to shut off showing 258° F and I turn off my bike for less then a min and turn it back on and starts fine showing temp at 186°F now it’s doing what I just stated above. As far as the over heating issue that only happend a small handful of times days apart then it’s eBaying to die just cruising. All Ideas and help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Ah that sucks.

Well, i was having the Exact same issues, and the bike was throwing a coils code, then a low power to ECU. Coils were fine (have another set of yours are bad) and the ECU was the issue in the long run (I have a spare, good ECU if that’s the case. I bought two thinking the years mattered. It did not.)
Thought it was a matter of overheating as well, but it just kept getting worse.

Did the select button not working start with this issue?

So, check coils first and clean all of your connectors well. (Never a bad thing to clean connectors.)

Man, it’s so handy knowing the dx code...

your spark plugs look dingy, so maybe clean them up a bit as well as anything else that looks dirty. I replaced mine even though they were fine as a “just in case” measure. Never hurts and they’re inexpensive.

At first that went bad just thinking it’s because of the rain getting on my speedometer and after my wreck last month on the 5th it was running fine for a couple weeks but if I remember right the select button went out and stopped working before my wreck

And do you know a way to fix the select button on the odometer?

In regards to the select button:

It could be related to your issues, but I wouldn’t know. Do you have the manual? Have you tried taking off the dash and seeing if anything was knocked out during the crash? Maybe just a connector came out. But I couldn’t tell you a fix as that wasn’t an issue I was having, that I can recall.

I’ll figure it out definitely have a bigger issue to handle to keep my bike from dying

For the button? That’s interesting.

Cool, though if that’s being recommended elsewhere. Never hurts to give it a checkup.

Best!

PROBLEM SOLVED!! The problem was with my power commander it fried!! Cut open my PCV and confirmed where it fired. Unhooked it, and connected the cables back up for my ECU and she is riding again now with a K&N air filter as of today. Here are some pictures of my PCV to show if anyone in the future has issues as well. It was fried around D36 on the Circuit board when I called them they did not give out info on what D36 controlled or was used for.
