Those that had gargage, driveway tip overs

If you're really tripping up about something being 1/2 inch off, then you may as well take the fairings off and try to align it yourself. I had to have my bike taken to the shop for major repairs twice, and both times it got back to me with controls out of line and fairings not quite aligned...

    Tip %$#@ over!

I feel your pain... I dropped my bike while parking it right after getting the keys. 1 mile and already dropped... *sigh*... Had scuff marks on the left side for the entire time I had the bike and honestly I had forgotten about it. It looks like you should be ready to ride by just...

    Shifting Issues

You may want to try shifting gears while keeping the throttle slightly open. I had that problem a few times and noticed that it mostly happened when I completely closed the throttle to shift. This works: Clutch-off, close throttle, shift, open throttle, clutch-on. Works better (at least...

question about fz6r and ninja 650

If you're set on the 650 of FZ6R, here's a comparison review 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650 VS 2012 Yamaha FZ6R Next Besters You may also want to try sitting on them in the show room and test ride them if possible. In the end it's all up to what makes YOU happy. Different strokes for different...

License plate tucked behind rear tire?

Can't help with the license plate question, but just wanted to say that the stormtrooper pic is super sick!

Hit a curb, frame is bent!?

Fist of all, glad you're okay man. Bending the frame is common in accidents involving curves or other static objects. This goes for all bikes, not just Yamaha. It is likely that the frame portion where the trees are joined was slightly bent during this accident since it was strong enough...

    kawasaki H2 superbike

Props to Kawi for perfecting the art of moto-porn. The way they tease those vids makes me want to see the H2 so badly! I don't even like Kawi :P

Review: From FZ6R to Street Triple R

Still breaking in the engine, but today I passed 300mi so I was able to get the engine up to speed enough to use freeway and a bit of highway. Here are some things I noticed... 1 - Highway is scary: As I was accelerating to get up to 70mph I felt as if I was traveling at 80mph+. After a few...

Review: From FZ6R to Street Triple R

You're right. The 6R has 3 key settings for the ignition: ON, OFF, LOCK. STR has an additional one for PARK. That setting is the equivalent of having hazards on and it is required in Europe to park your motorcycle on the side of the road.

Review: From FZ6R to Street Triple R

Hey crs5011, Seat height is a good point that I forgot to cover. The spec for the FZ6R seat height is 30.9" and the STR is 32.8". Just like you, I considered getting a lowering link as soon as I got the bike because I feared dropping it while backing it up or at an abrupt stop; but as...

Review: From FZ6R to Street Triple R

This one’s is for you, buzzbomb. I’ve recently made the switch from my trustee 2010 FZ6R to the sexy 2014 Street Triple. The 6R was my first motorcycle, and had been the only bike I’d ever ridden (aside from the MSF course bikes) up until getting my new ride. With that being said, my review...

I've really done it this time

Yeah, it was totalled. But no big deal. They compensated me for all the aftermarket parts and the bike very generously. I now have a 2014 Street Triple and I didn't have to pay more than $700 out of pocket to pay it in full (including a 3 year service contract). I can't rave enough about...
