2009 FZ6R Steel Braided Brake Lines

Hey peeps! Since I didn't get any service history with my bike, I have no idea whether my brake lines are the original rubber ones (and if I were to guess based on other factors around what previous owners did, I would say they are original) or not. I figured if I'm going to change them anyway...

    Right side footpeg nipple

Yeah, it definitely doesn't fit on both sides. I checked the bottom of both footpegs and there are part numbers on them designated for right hand side and left hand side, so seems correct! Very confusing.

    Right side footpeg nipple

Hey peeps! The nipple from my right footpeg went missing somewhere along the line (before I took over) and I want to replace it. However, I'm struggling to pin down the part. I contacted a Yamaha dealer and they sent me the exploded parts diagram. I've attached the diagram here - the two peg...

    Clutch Not Fully Disengaging?

Yikes! Sounds like the previous owner really neglected the bike! Fortunately these engines are solid, so some TLC and some riding should clear out the cobwebs in no time

    Tail Light Connector

Thanks so much Jerzee55. I didn't find what I was looking for there, but it got me Google'ing a bit differently and I found them! http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/090_Connectors/090_connectors.html - the 3 position connector.

    Tail Light Connector

Hey guys and gals! I bought a brake light modulator from TST Industries and they don't provide a connector that plugs into the stock connectors. Instead they provide you with some connectors and pins and want you to splice their harness into the bike's harness, which I would prefer not to do...

    Clutch Not Fully Disengaging?

So update on this. Seems like the issue has resolved itself! I'm not sure if perhaps the previous owner didn't ride the bike much (bearing in mind it was the start of the season when I bought it) and so riding it more and shifting up and down a lot has gotten it moving, or whether it was me...

    Clutch Not Fully Disengaging?

Hmmm...good to know. I think it has been doing it since the day I bought it. The level on the dipstick doesn't seem problematic, but it does seem to be harder to find neutral the hotter the engine is, which would imply increased oil volume due to temperature. Could be it!

    Clutch Not Fully Disengaging?

Thanks for this Boost. Yeah the cable makes sense to me. The engine oil looks brand new (I've only had the bike for about a month or so) and is full, so I don't think that's an issue (unless I'm missing something?). Yeah normally I wouldn't push the bike in gear. I had it in gear because I was...

Did you manage to resolve this issue Kaster11?

    Clutch Not Fully Disengaging?

Hey guys and gals! Something has been bothering me about my bike and I'm hoping someone can provide some insight. Since taking it over, I've noticed two things as a constant - tapping down or even downshifting is very sticky and sometimes I can't even get it into first gear before stopping...

'09 FZ6R Jerky When Cruising On Flat Road

So ended up getting a PC5 and going to a tuner (not in an attempt to fix this). I can't remember exactly his explanation, but he said that what I was experiencing is characteristic of Yamaha because of the way the bike is fuelled. Put the bike on the dyno and for the first time saw how the chain...

    New member welcome thread

Hey everyone! I've been lurking around in the background reading through threads and doing research for a little while now, but thought I should come out from the shadows and introduce myself :-) I'm Jonathan and I currently live in Vancouver BC. I'm originally from Johannesburg, South Africa...
