What does the integrated tail light do? That looks a lot like mine, and as far as I know, mine is stock.
As for mirrors, I bought a set of bar ends from Amazon, and turned down the factory end weights on my lathe to allow me to clamp-mount them outboard.
I get great visibility, no vibration, and...
Welcome! Clean looking 6R. Is that factory paint and bodywork?
I haven't seen a white one around here. It seems that only the blue and black ones were sold in this area, or at least those are all I've seen.
Mine will be a streetfighter-type when I'm done with it. I intend to paint it a...
No doubt! I've learned a lot from browsing and searching those old threads. I do hope we see some new traffic soon. I have a few projects in the works for mine, and I plan to share them here. Maybe that'll get things moving a little bit.
I totally agree about what Jerzee55 said regarding the...
That's kinda what I mean.
For example, the GS500 forums, a bike which hasn't been built in ages, is super active.
I really hope we can revive this group into a resource for the few FZ6R riders still out there. :)
So basically you're telling me this forum is dying because people don't have many of these bikes?
That's too bad. I've been part of lots of model-specific groups in the past, and never seen one fade out like this. :/
Thanks for the feedback guys!
I've done the loosen/twist/tighten process a couple times, and gotten it mostly back straight, but not totally. I'm not sure if one of the tubes is slightly bent or not. One of these days when I can get some room in my shop, I'm gonna try to support it overhead and...
Probably true, but I can't imagine why. For me, I have no use for an R6, but the FZ6R is deeply appealing. I love the light weight, upright seating position, and overall simplicity.
That being said, I really wanted a FZ6, I just couldn't find one in my area for a reasonable price. ;)
I love your enthusiasm! :)
I'm very much not local to you (east coast), and at the moment I'm buried under work, family obligations and other things that are making it difficult devote time to this project.
In addition, I'm not totally certain I even have the skills required to model and...
Well that's interesting, since the page I linked was directly from Yamaha Global. Maybe they don't know their own products? :)
I see the single-piece seat, but that still doesn't really look quite like the one is the photo from the cowl ad page. The grab rail and tail fair profiles are...
Exactly. That's the same shop I linked to earlier, and it clearly shows that their cowl in no way will fit the 09-17 FZ6R, regardless of what they say.
It looks nothing like our bikes. I'm not sure what bike that is they are showing in the product image, but it sure isn't an XJ6-F.
Yeah, I would love to be able to produce something around $100, but I'm not sure if that's feasible. Honestly, I'm not sure if this is doable at all, since my time is limited, and it's a fairly complex part.
