I agree about every (at least most) bikes should come with a center stand. It's very useful and it's always there. I don't have a problem getting the FZ1 on the center stand. My garage has a gravel floor (I'm hoping to build a new garage sometime, but not now) and I use a 2x4 under the center...
I'm about 2 hours east of St. Louis and 2 hours west of Indy right on I-70. I'd be happy to meet up either way. I'm on an FZ1, if that's OK. :D I lived in Ballwin for about 4 years while going to Logan College of Chiropractic from early '95 to late '98.
I'm a fan of snakes and like them to eat the other pests. As long as they aren't poisonous or a large enough constrictor to harm a child or bigger, they have my blessing to live, pretty much anywhere they want. Poisonous snakes are unlikely to be able to relocate from my property (unless they...
Not a bad bike. I find myself being drawn to them, and I don't even like cruisers! Hehehe. I have to classify the Bolt as more of a 'standard' bike that leans toward a cruiser and the FZ6R as a 'standard' bike that leans toward a sports bike as neither bike has an extreme riding position...
I took my kids and wife. I agree it wasn't half bad. I kinda enjoyed it. I watched the "Wonderful Wizzard of OZ" so much as a kid I was good with it. It does fill in some holes. I do wish there had been a little more character cross over, but it was still decent.
Bring on Iron Man 3 and...
I haven't been able to ride a Ninja 650, but my wife might be looking to upgrade from her 2009 Ninja 250r and the FZ6R and Ninja 650 are both top of the list. I prefer the I4 with the high end power with revs, but she is used to the parallel twin of the 250 and might be more comfortable with...
I'm just a bit south of you. I'm not feeling the Illini colors either, but to each his own. I think the second (non metallic) would look better for Illini colors. Let me know if you want to ride sometime. I'm just south of Charleston on an '07 FZ1. I don't check the FZ6r site too much, but...
Sadly, you do get used to it. It's still a thrill, but not like the first few times. I have an FZ1 (not a R6 or R1 class), but I still remember the test ride... I've had it since Oct 2010. It still makes me smile so big it shows through my helmet, but it doesn't make me cringe in fear...
I have the Fire Dragon Brothers on my FZ1, but I bought a set of Ride It levers for my wife's black, '09 Ninja 250r. I got them in black with the titanium adjusters. They have worked great and I haven't noticed any fade as of yet. They've been installed for a few months, but garaged for most...
The Honda DN-01 was intended to be a concept bike. I'm not sure how or why it got pushed through to production, but that's where the big price tag comes from. I have never ridden an DN-01, but I have seen several in showrooms and sat on them. They sit much like a cruiser with very forward...
I'd agree with full cash/cashier's check, or keys to what they rode up on/in (if it looks like = or > value) and a DL. Not sure what else to do. There's always risk.
As far as your new bike, that new red R6 looks way hot, and it doesn't seem to be the direction you are looking, but the FZ8...
Now I have to talk my wife into upgrading from her '09 black Ninja 250r she just got this spring to the orange FZ6R ASAP. My son just turned 11, but he loves orange, maybe I could get it for him... it'll keep for 5 years, right?;)
