Does anyone know where I can get XJ6 Diversion OEM parts in the states? I'm looking for the naked bike fairing parts.

Thanks,
Russ

I hope someone can help us find info. The XJ6 is sick!

Which one the XJ6 Naked - like mine in the profile pic, or the XJ6 Diversion F - kinda a half fairing?

Probably worth finding the parts online somewhere, and getting the codes and you can probably order the parts from a dealer in the US.

I'm looking for the XJ6 Naked parts, not the half-fairing one.

Thanks,
Russ

I have called around trying to find belly pans that will fit our bikes from the Euro versions and according to everyone they won't fit, different mounting points. I am about to cut my factory fairing and make my own belly pan, I will document it here and post pictures once I have started. Keep your fingers crossed that this works. (not that I am ever going to use my fairings again anyway)

XJ6N is naked, XJ6 Diversion is half-naked, XJ6 Diversion F is nearly same with the FZ6R (seat is different). You can ask Yamaha factory and get the European genuine parts..

Here in Argentina (i think in Europe too), the half fairing XJ6 is called Diversion S and the full fairing version is the Diversion F which is almost identical to the US Yamaha FZ6R. The difference is the seat and the center stand.

Ive been debating between an fz6r and an sv650n and I was leaning toward the sv because I don't like fully fared bikes in general. Then I learned about the xj6n and knew there had to be a way to convert a US model fz6r into a look-a-like of its naked European sibling. My search eventually led me here where I was sorely disappointed to find that not a single successful conversion had been documented and no one has even located a viable supplier of the naked faring parts or belly pan. That was the deal breaker. If I can't get the naked version of the fz6r, I'll settle for the naked sv....

Until I came across this : yamahamotorcyclespares
They sell everything including the mounting hardware, all OEM, and will ship to the states. I put together a shopping cart with every part needed to make the conversion (not including the headlight) and with shipping the total came out to £424.14 ($554.14 USD) it's a pretty penny, but to have a totally unique (in the USA) and completely factory bike it would be well worth it IMO.

Now I just need to hunt down a used fz6r with a busted fairing and I'll be golden! Hope this info helps someone!

Coincidentally, further research has led me to understand that the XJ6 shares a headlight assembly and mounting plate with the US spec FZ8n. Should make sourcing for that particular part slightly more convenient. The plastic cowling and other mounting hardware may not work due to the fact that the FZ8 unit mounts to inverted forks, and the HID bulb may have to be supplemented with some additional electrickery or substituted with a lower output bulb, but for anyone interested in the conversion, this is an option.
