55W is roughly 40% brighter than 35W. All factory-equipped HID units on cars are 35W. Truthfully, you should have projectors when using HIDs since the cutoff is much sharper. The cutoff is the height at which the lowbeam aims... above it, you are supposed to have less light as to not blind oncoming drivers.why not get the 55W ?
will be to bright?
35watt is what is legal from the factory.. the 55 watt kits are "for offroad use only"55W is roughly 40% brighter than 35W. All factory-equipped HID units on cars are 35W. Since we have multireflector headlights, we get more light distribution above the cutoff than projectors do. I'm pretty sure 55W would be far too intense for oncoming cars. Even the 35W is very bright... the 55W would likely get you ticketed or worse.

35watt is fine and the cutoff line is just extended from the stock line, if you have any issues, just adjust the beam (there are adjustment screws on the back out the lenses housing) .. I ride at night all the time and never have a single problem.. No one has ever even flashed me before (I got flashes in my lifted Xterra all the time with my 35watt HIDs)im very concerned about blinding other drivers and getting run over. Can anyone make me feel any better about the cut off on the 35W hid? are you blinding people on low beam? I want to put a projector in, but if the hid bulb will do the trick without blinding others then that would be pretty sweet.
He can't lock up his gas tank. The HID ballast doesn't stop the fork from being locked. Is there a reason you mounted on the left side - preventing lock up? Is there any other way? Not sure I want to go HID if I can't lock up.
